Snapback Saturday #cotd

Today's cap of the day is the aka series again this time the xmen - the best there is at what I do. Today's  pick was inspired by the loss of my grandad a year ago today (where I get my love of caps from I guess) his favourite drink back in the day would be a Guinness which is y I went for this black n white colour way. I hope you are up there grandad rocking your favourite cap and enjoying a pint of your favourite R.I.P 

My new era box by my wrap solutions

Many of you may have seen the photos and videos floating around the Internet of the custom shoe storage boxes....but how many of you have seen one for a hat collection?

I had my idea turned into a reality when I noticed through Facebook a guy from my home city which made one of the Nike ones. I contacted him with my idea and said he would me more than happy to apply my idea of a new era box to his box design. So James set at replicating one of the boxes that a new era hat comes in (although i wasn't expecting it till after Xmas my partner had sneakily got in touch to do this as a suprise gift). 

The details on this box are top notch and what sets james apart from the rest are his choice of materials which is a lot lighter and easier to move than the wooden ones. It is also vinyl wrapped so no paint is used in the making of these boxes (meaning very smooth , sharp detail )

James has done many other world exclusives and as far as I am aware there are only 2 (to date) in the world of the new era boxes.

The very detailed Christian louboutin (look at that gorgeous brown paper effect)

The Jordan (which lights up) 

The Adidas predator (yes those eyes light up )

Starter x space jam series 2015

The Last year starter black label released the starter x space jam range which was pretty hot now it's back this year and it's the monSTARS turn with these amazing snapbacks. 

From the striking colours to the amazing under brims these are a summers must have. There is also a range of jerseys in the range.

The amazingly talented guys over at new era cap talk recently allowed me to do an interview on my collection and more importantly my daughters condition moebius syndrome in which members throughout the fitted community wore there purple hats (the charity's colour) and shared through social media.

Snapback Saturday

So after yesterday's choice of batman for fitted Friday I thought I would go for the new era Aka collection superman : more powerful than a locomotive. I love this collection and just short on the iron man version of the superheroe ones ( the rest being batman , the hulk and the xmen )

Welcome To Above The Brim

Hi

First of all let me start by introducing myself , I am a cap collector from Nottingham UK (The home of Robin hood who is also famous for his hat ;-) ). I have been buying hats for  many years but only last year started collecting hats. the bulk of my collection consists of New Era although I do have a few Starter and Mitchell & Ness caps.


SO....


My aim for this this blog is to bring to you all things fitted and snapback related from new releases to must haves , my #FOTD (fitted of the day) or #COTD (cap of the day) , fellow collectors collections and maybe even the occasional competition.
